Venison Sloppy Joe Stuffed Peppers

A new take on stuffed peppers! I absolutely love making new recipes by combining two of my favorite recipes together. I love sloppy joes and I love stuffed peppers, but I often get bored of traditional stuffed pepper recipes. These were out of this world delicious and a new staple in our house!

This recipe is designed to be low carb, but if you’d like to add white rice, here’s how! While you’re adding in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce and apple over vinegar, add in 1/2 cup white rice and 1/4 cup chicken broth. You’ll need to let it simmer for 15 minutes before stuffing the sloppy Joe mixture.

  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, Divided
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion, Chopped
  • 1 pound Ground Venison
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Minced Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Paste
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • ¼ cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 ½2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 3 Large or 4 Small to Medium Bell Peppers, Cut Lengthwise
