This Philly cheesesteak dip is a wild game twist on a classic sandwich we all know and love.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground Venison (or use shaved meat from the hindquarter!)
  • 1 tablespoon Steak Seasoning
  • 1 (8 ounce) package Cream Cheese
  • 8 ounces Sour Cream
  • 1 small Onion, Diced
  • 1 Large Red Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 1 Large Green Bell Pepper, Diced
  • 12 ounces Shredded Cheese (I did a mix of  Mozzarella and Provolone)
  • 1 tablespoon Chopped Parsley, To Garnish
  • Tortilla Chips, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your smoker to degrees 250 F.
  2. Brown ground venison in a large skillet over medium high heat. Drain any fat, then season with steak seasoning and mix well. Remove from heat.
  3. Add the venison and remaining ingredients to an aluminum tray or baking dish and set into the preheated smoker. Let it cook for 1.5 – 2 hours, until the cheese is fully melted. Stir a few times while it cooks.
  4. Top with parsley and serve with tortilla chips, toasted bread or any of your other favorite dippers.
